A Lifelong Passion for Drumming & Music
Phil Eades has been playing drums since 1993, turning his love for rhythm into a lifelong journey of music, performance, recording, and education. At just 14 years old, Phil formed a band before even knowing how to play! Determined to master the drums, he taught himself—setting the foundation for a career that would lead him to the stage, the studio, and ultimately, Sydney’s premier drum school.
Professional Drumming Career
Phil's drumming expertise has led him to play with some of Australia's top bands, including Thousand Needles in Red (featuring Clint Boge from Butterfly Effect) and Behind Crimson Eyes. His original band, Kill The Capitol, took him overseas to record in Los Angeles, and his talent has taken him to sold-out stages, performing at major events like Taste of Chaos and Crusty Demons.
Along the way, he has shared the stage with iconic international acts, including Rise Against, Killswitch Engage, Papa Roach, Funeral for a Friend, The Used and Story of the Year.
From Humble Beginnings to Northern Beaches’ Premier Drum School
In 2000, Phil turned his passion into a profession, founding Northern Beaches Drum School in a small studio on Condamine Street, Manly Vale. What started with just a few students quickly grew, and today, the school has expanded to teach over 170 students, becoming Sydney’s leading destination for drum lessons.

Phil’s love for drumming has led to some legendary moments—including the time he set up a full drum kit on Wakehurst Parkway at just 19 years old because he couldn’t practice at home! His impromptu session caused traffic jams as people stopped to watch, catching the attention of Nova Radio, which later interviewed him about the experience.
